TAKE A HIKE

As is often the case here in Maine, I'm not sure when it happened, but Spring has officially sprung! The buds are popping out on the trees, temperatures are hovering in the mid 60s, and the grass is getting greener by the day. It's a beautiful time of year.

There are few things I enjoy more than being outside. However, when it comes to being outside, Maine takes the cake. You have everything you could ever hope for! Mountains which rival any on the East Coast, beautiful river carved valleys, and of course the infamous rocky coast. The best part is that all of it is within an hour of my front door!
After a year being away, stranded in the concrete jungle, I was super amped when Jeff (Eyeball Imaging) asked if I wanted to go for a short hike. Now, don't get any grand ideas, we weren't exactly traversing the Appalachian Trail. However, we got off our butts, got outside, and explored some new territory.
The trail we took was about 15 minutes away from town, but after a few minutes on the trail you would have thought we were miles away from anyone. Though, the best part of the whole endeavor was when the trail met a meandering fresh flowing stream. After being cooped up all winter and having worked up a bit of sweat, the clear water and sandy banks were too much for the two of us to resist. We kicked off our shoes and jumped in! First swim of the year in a meandering stream, not a bad way to start the summer.
