EMILITSA

Thanks to my friends over at Down East Magazine, I've had the pleasure to photograph some of the best resturants in the Pine Tree State. Ever better is the fact that once the shutter has stopped clicking I usually get an opportunity to sample these wondeful culinary creations.

One of the most enjoyable shoots I've had came about 5 months ago when I was tasked with photographing Emilitsa. A Greek resturant tucked into downtown Portland, Emilitsa has been called the best Greek food north of Boston. Let me tell you, after having sampled every dish I shot that day, they are well deserving of this title.

Run by a pair of brothers, the resturant was one of the more pleasant I have ever had the opportunity to shoot. From the contemporary dining room design to the spotless kitchen, this place was a treat for the eyes.

I spent close to 4 hours following the staff while they fired up our photo entrees and prepared for their afternoon service. Having a photographer hovering over your shoulder isn't always the most condusive working enviornment, but every last member of that crew was great.

I can't say enough good things about these guys. Instead, let me just say that if you find yourself craving some good baklava, find your way to Emilitsa. I promise you won't be dissapointed.
